Explore Mad Science with the Whole Family: 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 11. This special session will test out various science experiments as part of the library’s Frankentober celebration.
Teen Pizza Friday: 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12. For ages 13-18. The program will include a showing of a Frankenstein film with Boris Karloff, plus pizza and related activities. Registration required.
Toddler Time: 10 a.m. Oct. 15. For ages 2-3 with an adult. Drop in for stories, songs, fingerplays and a craft.
Chess Club: 6 p.m. Oct. 15. For ages 18 and younger.

A Biography of Mary Shelley: 7 p.m. Oct. 16. Linda Quinlan, a literature professor at Roberts Wesleyan College, will provide a biographical perspective of the life of Mary Shelley, her start as an author and how she attained literary success.
Code Lab: 6 p.m. Oct. 17. For ages 10-14. Attendees will discover their skills in coding learning programs in Scratch and Python. Registration required.
Sourdough — Beyond the Bread: 7 p.m. Oct. 17. Mary Birchenough from KneadingLife.com will share the secrets of a flaky biscuit or scone through a demonstration. Attendees will sample sweet and savory breads. Program ends with a discussion of how to incorporate local herbs and fruits, as well as care for a starter. Bring a small container to take some sourdough starter home. Registration required.

Staying Fit as We Age: 2 p.m. Oct. 18. The interactive seminar is intended for adults older than 65 who are interested in learning more about exercise and how to safely incorporate an exercise program into their lifestyle. Registration required.

Creative Writing with Ron Hilton: 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18. The two-session creative writing experience will have participants creating or revising original writing. Tips will be provided on organizing to write, breaking bad habits and cultivating good ones, proofreading, and editing. Second session: 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Registration required.
Frankentober (Adult Night): 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19. For ages 18 and older. The afterhours celebration will include monster mocktails, carnival-style games with prizes, face painting, contests, green screen photos, raffles and a variety of other activities.
