The Southeast Family YMCA’s Turkey Classic was held Nov. 18, marking the event’s 35th anniversary.
More than 300 runners and walkers took part in the 5-mile certified race or the 1-mile run and walk.
The Turkey Classic is the premier annual fundraiser hosted by the Southeast YMCA in Pittsford. Money raised helps provide financial assistance for fellow Y members in need.
The YMCA recently announced it had met its overall goal for 2018 of $2.6 million across the YMCA of Greater Rochester association.
More than 40 awards were given to top runners of the Turkey Classic in a variety of age categories hat caps at 150 participants.
In honor of the milestone year, participants received specially designed 35th anniversary medals and ribbons.
This was the final year for the Southeast Family YMCA serving as the location for the Turkey Classic. Next November, the race will move to the new Schottland Family Branch and to the areas surrounding the new 140,000-square-foot Y at the corner of Jefferson Road and Clover Street in Pittsford.
