The Lyric Chorale will perform with Mitzie Collins, hammered dulcimer; Roxanne Ziegler, Celtic harp; and John Heyer, hurdy-gurdy, Scottish small pipes and recorders, in “Carols with a Twist” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester.
Performing as the Nonesuch Ensemble, the trio will join the Chorale in presenting new arrangements of common — and uncommon — carols. The program will include choral settings of “He is Born,” “Brightest and Best” and “Fum, Fum, Fum.”
Twelve movements will represent different periods of western music, starting with Gregorian chant and ending with a Sousa march, in Craig Courtney’s “A Musicological Journey through the 12 Days of Christmas.”
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students. Visit lyricchorale.org for information.
