Lollypop Farm invites the Rochester community to register for its 15th annual Barktober Fest.

The family and pet-friendly festival features a 5-mile run and a nature walk for the animals. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22. at Egypt Park and Lollypop Farm from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Barktober Fest is a fun way to for us to come together with the community to celebrate the pets in our lives," said Alice Calabrese, Lollypop Farm president and CEO.

Lollypop hopes to raise $144,500 from the event to continue its work supporting homeless and abused pets.

Registration is $30 to participate in the Walk for the Animals and $20 to run in the 5-mile race. All participants are encouraged to collect pledges in support of their participation. Those who want to help raise funds but cannot participate in the event can register as a “Couch Potato” and engage friends and family.

Participants may compete for prizes in the popular costume and animal contests, visit over 50 vendors offering pet products and services, watch the exciting dog sport demonstrations, get pets microchipped, and children can visit the Kids Zone to make toys for shelter pets and engage in other kids activities.
