The celebration of energy efficiency improvements at the business is free and open to the public, and will feature vocal performances by the Roberts Wesleyan Sirens and the college’s Chamber Choir.
The festivities start at 4 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 12, as Keenan’s Restaurant, 1010 E. Ridge Road, Irondequoit, celebrates its Grand “Green” Reopening, following the completion of a number of energy-efficiency improvements.
The event is co-sponsored by Sam’s Club (Greece) and the Roberts Wesleyan College Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team.
With a grant from the Sam’s Club Environmental Sustainability Challenge, SIFE helped Keenan’s become more “green” by replacing 136 light bulbs with new CFL bulbs and adding insulated ceiling panels to the kitchen to conserve heat. Keenan’s also installed an energy corrector system and improved its recycling program.
Saturday’s celebration, which is open to the public, features free food and vocal performances by the Roberts Wesleyan Sirens and also the college’s Chamber Choir.
