A man in his mid-20s has reportedly taken two children, ages 1 and 3, from their mother following an physical argument with her when he punched her in the face.

Rochester police have found two children that were reported as abducted early Tuesday morning.

The missing children, ages 1 and 3, were found at a home on Alphonse Street after a citizen called police following an Amber Alert that described the vehicle the kids were taken away in.

The children were found unharmed around 1:45 p.m., and suspect Kenneth Smith, 25, was located around 25 minutes later walking near North and Bernard streets.

Smith was reportedly the live-in boyfriend of Suzette Lee, the children's mother, at a home on Garson Avenue. Lee had left to call the police regarding a physical altercation where Smith allegedly punched her when he took the kids away around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to a previous release from the Rochester Police Department.

Smith fled the scene with the children in a 2001 gray Chevy Malibu with license plate number EUR 2895, which was identified in the Amber Alert.

Smith is now in custody of the Rochester Police Department. Police say charges are pending and he will be arraigned in Rochester City Court tomorrow.
