The Greece landmark has been closed since 2012 and has been purchased by new owners.

A Greece landmark, shuttered since last year, could soon reopen.

Crescent Beach Hotel, sandwiched between Lake Ontario and Buck Pond on Edgemere Drive, has been purchased by new owners who would like to reopen by September, according to Gary Tajkowski, the Town of Greece's director of development services.

Three partners who have experience in the restaurant and hotel industry in Niagara Falls, Canada have indicated they would like to return the restaurant to its former glory, Tajkowski said. The applicants appeared before the Greece Town Board on Tuesday seeking a special use permit, which is required by the town for any restaurant.

The eatery would feature steaks, seafood, pasta and pizza. The exterior and interior would be refurbished, including a new roof, paint, repaved parking lot and remodeling on the inside.

Crescent Beach Road, which ends at the building's parking lot, would remain open. Boaters would also be allowed to anchor at the existing dock on the property on the lakeside.

The board did not make a decision on awarding the permit. Tajkowski said it is unknown when it will render a decision.
