A Rochester man, Scott Nauheimer, is in jail following an overnight fatal stabbing on Averill Avenue.
Rochester Police Department officials say they responded to 459 Averill Ave., the address of the suspect, for a call of a male stabbed around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Upon arrival they found Malcom Hannah, 44, with stabs wounds to the chest, on the ground outside the residence. He was pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital just after midnight.
Nauheimer, 26, was charged with second-degree murder and taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Police say the two were acquaintances and several witnesses saw or heard them arguing prior to the stabbing. Two other occupants were at the residence when the stabbing took place, but police say they weren't injured or involved.
Nauheimer is scheduled to appear in Rochester City Court on Thursday, Dec. 1.
