Kimberly Schroth was inducted into Phi Eta Sigma freshman honor society during Honors Week in March at Widener University. First-year student with a GPA of at least 3.5 at the end of a full curricular period is eligible for membership.

Cheryl Cappon, a Nazareth College student studying business administration, is a recipient of the Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education award, which is given to candidates who exemplify a strong commitment to higher education despite the unique challenges adult learners may face. A breast cancer survivor, Cappon volunteers with the American Cancer Society and helped organize and staff its "Survivor area" at the Relay for Life, held at Nazareth April 17. Cappon is scheduled to graduate from Nazareth College in May 2017.

Brady Mueller was selected to exhibit artwork at the State University of New York at Oneonta's 2015 Student Juried Art Exhibition, which opened April 13 and runs through May 16 in the college's Martin-Mullen Art Gallery on the school’s campus, 108 Ravine Parkway, Oneonta. Gallery hours are weekdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stephen Boyers and Joanna Critelli, students at Finger Lakes Community College, were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, during a ceremony March 26.

Steven R. Weber recently received the Robert E. Reardon Award from the Stonehill College’s Political Science Department. The departmental awards are given to the top students in each of the school’s academic departments. Weber, a political science and international studies and history major, is a member of the Class of 2015.

Trevor Johnson, a Nazareth College student studying biology, is a recipient of the Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education award, which is given to candidates who exemplify a strong commitment to higher education despite the unique challenges adult learners may face. Johnson, a veteran transfer student, served in the Army and his military occupational specialty was as a medic. Johnson will graduate from Nazareth College in May 2015.

Steven R. Weber was inducted into Stonehill College's Honor Society Lambda Epsilon Sigma. Weber is a member of Class of 2015 and a history and political science/international studies major. Juniors and seniors with a 3.5 cumulative GPA are invited to apply for consideration in the honor society.
