Rochester man sentenced to seven years behind bars for having sexual contact with a child in Ontario County
CANANDAIGUA — The Rochester man who admitted to having sexual contact with a child younger than 13 years old while in Ontario County will spend seven years behind bars followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.
In November, James A. Heckman, 59, of 257 Berkshire Drive, pleaded guilty to second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child for the crime against the child that took place on Aug. 16, 2014.
The contact occurred at a residence on Route 14 in the town of Phelps, according to Ontario County sheriff's deputies.
Aside from the prison time and post-release supervision, Heckman was also ordered to stay away from the victim for 15 years.
In addition, the Rochester resident must pay $1,425 in surcharges and fees.
