Broccolo Garden Center and Splash MOB Painting Parties will host a Petals & Paint Nature Painting Club painting event program and food drive at various times May 14-Aug. 25 at the garden center, 2755 Penfield Road, Fairport.

Splash MOB Painting Parties is offering the Petals & Paint class at a $35 discounted rate. In order to receive the discount, each participant is asked to donate a nonperishable food item to benefit the Penfield Food Shelf.

Petals & Paint will offer 2 1/2-hour acrylic painting on canvas instruction for non-artists and beginners taught by Gloria Kreitzberg, professional illustrator and artist. Classes will include music, movement and expressive painting instruction, and the subject matter will feature nature such as flowers, foliage and landscapes. Participants can expect to take home a complete 16-by-20-inch canvas painting at the end of each class. Thursday painting classes will be relaxing and meditative with soothing music and Saturday classes will include lively dance music and a more party-like atmosphere.

“I created Petals & Paint Nature Painting Club because of my love of nature and my passion for sharing the joy of painting with people who think they have no artistic skills,” said Kreitzberg, creator of Petals & Paint Nature Painting Club and owner of Splash MOB Painting Parties. “I enjoy seeing the joy on their faces as they proudly hold up their stunning finished paintings in amazement.”

Kreitzberg chose to partner with Broccolo Garden Center because of their reputation for providing customers with the quality products and services, unique plant offerings, its arts-centered retail environment and its commitment to helping their community.

“Broccolo Garden Center was the perfect fit for my nature painting class because of its creative atmosphere with their meandering garden paths, lush greenery and unique metal sculptures,” she said.

Participants can register online for a single class or a group of four classes to receive an additional $10 discount for the series. For more information, call 585-310-2584 or visit
