The Greece Rotary Club is seeking two families to participate as a host family for the 2016 Rotary Exchange Student program.

Interested families will have an opportunity to host an exchange student from Denmark and learn about life in another country while sharing the American culture. Emma is 16 years old and will attend Greece Athena High School. She has studied English for seven years and attended a three-week English school in London this past summer. Her teacher described her as having a good command of reading, writing and speaking English. The student's favorite subjects are math and physical education. Two of her favorite sports are handball and skiing.

As an exchange student, she hopes to become part of another culture and experience other family traditions as well as establish lifelong friendships with her host families and students from her American school. The Rotary Exchange Student program provides support to both the student and the host families.

To give exchange students the broadest exposure to American culture, the program seeks to arrange three different host family experiences. Each family will host for 3-4 months.

The Greece Rotary Club is currently recruiting two additional families for the 2016-17 school year. If interested, call 585-746-4230; exchange@greecerotary.org.
