Applied Image recently hired East High School 2016 graduate Ricardo Borges as a full-time employee.

Borges was one of the inaugural members of the Precision Fab II accelerated course at East High School.

The East High School precision optics program began in 2011 as a dual-credit optics course with Monroe Community College and is funded by a state education department science, technology, engineering and mathematics grant.

Paul Conrow, director and instructor, began the program in the hope that students would have a potential career path in the industry.

“East High is poised to make further gains in its efforts to train the next generation of Rochester’s precision optical technicians, engineers and scientists,” said Conrow.
