A retrospective of Mary Ann Scarborough’s work — created with silk, embroidery and glass beads — will be on display through Oct. 14, at the Tower Fine Arts Center Gallery at the College at Brockport, 180 Holley St.
The exhibition will be curated by Jennifer Hecker, professor of art, and Sandra Cain, retired costume designer for the department of dance, and will feature an essay on Scarborough’s work written by Alisia Grace Chase, historian of art and visual culture.
“Each one is entirely exquisite and entirely unique, and in all of them, individual expression is at the forefront,” said Chase.
Scarborough donated “Winter Work,” one of the works on display, to be raffled off to raise money for an award in next year’s annual Student Art Exhibition.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Raffle tickets are $5 each, or $25 for six, and can be purchased in the gallery during exhibition hours. The winning ticket will be drawn at the close of the exhibition.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 1 to 4 p.m. For information: 585-395-2805.
