During the Rio Olympics Lochte, along with three other U.S. swimmers, initially told police they had been held up by armed ne posing as Rio Police. It was later revealed the Lochte made up much of the story.

Lochte is expected to be suspended for 10 months by both organizations, according to TMZ Sports. The other three swimmers will also be punished, but not as severely as Lochte. The 12-time Olympic medal winner will also not be able to compete in the 2017 World Championships in July 2017.
