The 15th annual Greece Invitational High School Bowling Tournament was recently held at Dewey Garden Lanes.

The tournament consisted of boys and girls divisions, a team event and a single elimination tournament. Over 110 bowlers participated at the invitational.

The team format used the best five individual games of a school’s bowlers.

The three-game series resulted in Hilton High School winning overall for boys will 3,353 total pinfall, followed by Irondequoit High School with 2,890 and Webster Schroeder High School with 2,752. The girls overall winner was Hilton with 2,977 in total pinfall, followed by Greece Arcadia High School with 2,756 and Greece Athena High School with 2,519.

Spencerport High School, Greece Olympia High School and Greece Odyssey High School also competed in the event.

The team competition was followed by a head-to-head singles competition, which was determined by the eight highest individual series for each school and the next eight overall high series from any school. Bowlers were seeded from No. 1 to No. 16, and a match play format ensued.

The boys winner was Jake Ouriel, of Hilton, with a 246-130 win over Joey McCarthy, of Greece Athena. The girls winner was Calla Bellis, of Spencerport, with a 224-172 win over Alex Copey, of Webster Schroeder.

Sarah Gerken, of Hilton, received a high series award with 687 and a high game award with 258. Joe Heberger, of Hilton, received a high series award with 719, and Alex Perez, of Irondequoit, received a high game award with 269.

The boys all-tournament team was Heberger; Adam Turner, of Greece Olympia, with a 682 series; Ryan Gerken, of Hilton, with a 673 series; Tommy Parsons, of Hilton, with a 659 series; and Perez with a 650 series.

The girls all-tournament team was Sarah Gerken; Hailey Tidwell, of Greece Arcadia, with a 651 series; Kayla Kawyn, of Greece Arcadia, with a 643 series; Katlyn Newberry, of Greece Athena, with a 633 series; and Sabryna Farsace, of Hilton, with a 614 series.
