Monster Jam, an adrenaline-charged motorsports experience, will return to Rochester at 7 p.m. Feb. 3-4 and at 1 p.m. Feb. 4 at Blue Cross Arena, 100 Exchange Blvd., Rochester.
The event will feature eight competitors vying to be the Rochester champion: Carolina Crusher, driven by Gary Porter; Fullboar, driven by Ed Eckert; Master of Disaster, driven by Paul Strong; Megalodon, driven by Alex Blackwell; Incinerator, driven by Ryan Rice; Predator; Prowler; and Stinger, driven by Zane Rettew.
Monster Jam competitors are trained at Monster Jam University. Monster Jam trucks are 12 feet tall and 12 feet wide, and they are custom designed to sit atop 66-inch tires and weigh a minimum 10,000 pounds. The trucks are built for short, high-powered bursts of speed. They generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds up to 100 mph. The trucks can jump 125 to 120 feet — a distance greater than 14 cars side by side — and up to 35 feet in the air.
The Party in the Pits from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 4 will give fans an up close opportunity to view the Monster Jam trucks and meet the drivers.
Tickets start at $15.
