Jazz 90.1 FM will salute influential African-American jazz musicians throughout February in honor of Black History Month.
The radio station will broadcast a biographical vignette at 7:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The vignettes will be repeated during weekend programming. Each vignette will feature a selection of that artist’s music.
The selected artists represent various instruments, ages and levels of achievement, but all have a story to tell and have contributed to the growth and enhancement of jazz music. Featured musicians will include Eubie Blake, Ron Carter, Carmen McRae, Thelonious Monk and Nancy Wilson.
