Ontario County sheriff's deputies charged Krystal M. Machado, 24, of Rochester, with second-degree robbery, a class C felony.

VICTOR — A Rochester woman is facing a felony robbery charge after being accused of forcibly stealing merchandise from Lord and Taylor at the Eastview Mall and allegedly injuring an Ontario County sheriff’s deputy while she fled the scene.

On Jan. 29, deputies assigned to the mall attempted to stop Krystal M. Machado, 24, of 44 Keeler St., after she allegedly stole $546.50 worth of merchandise from the store, but the Rochester resident sped away in her vehicle.

In the process of escaping, Machado allegedly struck a marked sheriff’s patrol, causing minor damage to the vehicle. She is also accused of causing a minor hand injury to the deputy during the course of the short-lived escape.

On Jan. 31, Machado was located in the city of Rochester and taken into custody without incident, deputies said.

Machado was arraigned in Victor Town Court and placed in the Ontario County Jail. She has since posted $3,000 bond and was released, according to jail personnel.
