Greece Historical Society will host historian Dan Cody as he discusses Rochester’s participation in World War I at 7 p.m. March 14 at Greece Public Library, 2 Vince Tofany Blvd., Rochester.
Although the U.S. did not officially enter WWI until 1917, Rochester participated in the war economy and prepared for eventual entry into the war. Once the U.S. declared war, Rochester was an all-American, patriotic city.
Cody is the collections manager and registrar for Rochester Historical Society and adjunct lecturer of American history at Finger Lakes Community College.
