Effective immediately, the highway travel recommendations in Ontario County are elevated to "no unnecessary travel,” according to Sheriff Philip Povero.
An increased snowfall rate coupled with winds of 20 to 30 mph with 40 mph gusts may create hazardous driving conditions on county roads and highways.
Drivers who must operate an automobile are urged to do so with caution and be alert to occasions of reduced visibility because of blowing snow.
