Families and children of all ages hunted for festive Easter eggs that were scattered around Martin Road Park on April 15.
The annual Alyssa’s Angels Easter egg hunt was held in memory of Alyssa Rose Bruno, who passed away from cancer in 2006. A tradition now for more than a decade, this year’s event raised over $600 in donations to be used to help children struggling to deal with serious illness, poverty, abuse and/or neglect or living in domestic violence situations.
Donations of books, toys and games were collected to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
“We are very grateful to everyone who came out to show their support,” said Chris Bruno, organization president and Alyssa’s father. “Every year it is a memorable experience. The giving and caring spirit of our community is extraordinary.”
Alyssa’s Angels event donations are given to support projects that benefit needy children in the local area. To donate or for information: alyssasangels.org.
