A total of $4,600 was raised through 230 test drives with the help of the community at the Drive 4 UR School event at Webster Schroeder.
The proceeds from the day will benefit the Webster Marching Band Boosters in support of Webster Thomas and Webster Schroeder High School senior classes of 2017.
“We share great pride within our Webster community,” said Henderson Ford Operations Manager Aki Henderson. “The people are very passionate about giving back and helping our efforts with the Drive 4 UR School events, year-after-year. We are happy to see the community continuing to provide support for its students.”
Webster students, their families and community members arrived at the event ready to test drive several makes and models of Henderson Ford vehicles. The day was a time for celebration; many were able to give back to Webster students through test drives and supporting their artistic efforts during Community Arts Day. The event was held at the same time and highlighted local artisans and student talent.
The Drive 4 UR School and Community support programs were developed by Ford Motor Company to provide schools and nonprofit organizations the opportunity to earn funds. These programs have distributed over $35 million to schools and community organizations across the United States.
“It is imperative we give back to the community by supporting students and their educational efforts,” said Henderson. “We want our younger generation to know and understand the importance of education, plus experience its rewards.”
