Association for Teen-age Diplomats is seeking Monroe County families to host a high school foreign exchange student for the 2017-18 school year.
ATAD is a local nonprofit organization that goes back more than 60 years in Rochester. The program is registered by the U.S. State Department to provide J1 visas for high school students to study in the area. It brings students from Rochester’s sister cities and other partners.
Students visiting the Greater Rochester region can participate for the summer, a semester or a full year to study in these places. ATAD’s most difficult task is finding host families to house students for the school year.
This year’s program currently has six students from Italy, Spain and Russia who need homes. The students come with health insurance and their own spending money.
