Nathan Samoriski, of Victor, recently received the 10th annual Peter R. D’Agostino Prize for Excellence in history for his senior thesis, “The Battle of the Bands: Music in the American Civil War,” at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.
Carly Vecchiotti, of Macedon, is working as an archeologist in summer 2017 at Hartwick College’s Pine Lake Environmental Campus in West Davenport. Vecchiotti, an anthropology major at SUNY Oneonta, is digging in an area that contains artifacts dating back 3,000-4,000 years.
George Heltz and Kayla Purdy, of Victor, will attend Clarkson University in the fall 2017 semester as members of the Class of 2021. Heltz will major in chemical engineering, and Purdy will study biomolecular science.
James Bridgeford, of Canandaigua, was named to Clarkson University’s spring 2017 dean’s list.
Grant Hildman, of Victor, was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Marist College. Hildman is a criminal justice major.
Samantha Bartone, of Victor, was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at St. John Fisher College. To be eligible, students must earn a minimum 3.5 semester GPA. Bartone is a business major.
McKenzie Henry, of Shortsville, was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at SUNY Cortland. Henry, a Red Jacket High School graduate, earned a 3.9 GPA while majoring in communication studies.
Tristan Ierlan, Guilherme Marchese, Geraldine Milne and Michael Parsons, of Victor, were named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at University at Albany. To be eligible, students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Abigail Shelhamer, of Macedon; Britni Stupin, of Palmyra; and Katherine Kull, of Victor, were named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at St. Lawrence University. To be eligible, students must complete at least four courses and earn a minimum 3.6 semester GPA.
Shelby M. Kemp, a sophomore environmental science major who is the daughter of John and Diane Kemp, of Canandaigua, and a graduate of Canandaigua Academy; and Kimberly M. Morsheimer, a sophomore biology major who is the daughter of Matthew and Patricia Morsheimer, of Honeoye, and a graduate of Our Lady Mercy High School, were named to the spring 2017 dean’s list at Saint Michael’s College.
Rachel Bellis, of Canandaigua, recently graduated from Hartwick College.
James Gillan, of Middlesex, received a Doctor of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions.
Tanner Mosher, of Canandaigua, recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from The College at Brockport.
Brandon Graves, of Victor, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in natural resources management and policy from Paul Smith’s College.
Hayley Miller, of Canandaigua, recently graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in woodwind performance from Boston University and was named to the spring 2017 dean’s list. To be eligible for the dean’s list, full-time students must earn a minimum 3.5 GPA or be in the top 30 percent of their class.
Meghan Oswald, of Penn Yan, recently graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biology from Houghton College. Oswald, who maintained a 4.0 each semester, was named to the Empire 8 president’s list for lacrosse and named the E8 Sportswoman of the Year. She will attend Cornell Veterinary School in the fall.
