Girl Scout Allie Beamish, of Webster, recently qualified for the Silver Award.
Beamish organized a towel and washcloth drive to benefit Asbury First United Methodist Church Storehouse in Rochester for her project. The Storehouse was established 51 years ago to provide clothing and household goods to Rochester neighbors in need.
Once Beamish defined the Storehouse as the focus of her Silver Award project, she started collecting towels, washcloths and monetary donations. She was able to collect 95 towels and 72 washcloths over three Sundays.
Beamish also engaged in a letter writing campaign to solicit household goods from local hotels.
