Kate Sidoti, an incoming senior at Greece Athena High School, recently received the Greece Ridge Lions Community Service Award.
The club annually recognizes a Greece Athena student who best exemplifies volunteerism.
Sidoti works to help special education students in her school, and assists with children’s programs at Greece Public Library. She helped at the Special Olympics this year in Brockport.
She has worked at Wegman’s for two years, serving as cashier and providing food demonstrations. At Greece Athena, Sidoti plays soccer and lacrosse, takes Advanced Placement classes and participates in National Honor Society.
Sidoti plans to study physical therapy with a minor in deaf studies. She is fluent in American Sign Language.
Greece Ridge Lions Club annually makes a donation in the award winner’s name. Sidoti selected Autism Up.
Sidoti was honored at the club’s annual steak roast. She was introduced by Greece Athena’s principal, and received her award from her sister, Jessica, who won the award in 2015.
