Victor resident graduates from Army War College

Col. Christopher Cronin, of Victor, recently graduated from U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Cronin currently serves as commander of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the New York Army National Guard.

He served in Afghanistan in 2007-08 as the operations officer for tactical trainers supporting the 1st Brigade of the Afghan Army's 203rd Army Corps. He additionally served as training team chief in support of an Afghan Infantry battalion along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

Cronin’s awards include the Bronze Star; Meritorious Service, Afghanistan Campaign, Global War on Terrorism Service and NATO medals; and Combat Infantry, Parachutist, Air Assault, German Army Marksmanship and German Army Athletic badges.

War College provides graduate-level instruction to senior military officers and civilians to prepare them for senior leadership assignments and responsibilities. Graduates receive a master's degree in strategic studies.
