Greece Rotary Club recently installed Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible picnic tables in Greece town parks.
The tables were announced by Supervisor Bill Reilich, Rotary District 7120 Club President Chuck Gannon and other Greece Rotary Club members.
Greece Rotary is a group of businesses and professional men and women from the Greece area who volunteer their time and resources to making a difference within the community. Its projects include community and club services, international services and vocational and youth services.
Specific programs include its annual Charity Golf Tournament, vocational scholarships for youth, Nigerian Water Project and Special Olympics.
The picnic tables project exemplifies the club’s mission by offering fellowship to disabled citizens young and old. These tables will allow individuals and families not to compromise for tables that do not fit their needs. Greece Rotary volunteered its time and resources to assembling the tables and placing them in the parks.
“From playgrounds to athletic fields to canal paths, our Greece town parks are destination points for both Greece residents and visitors,” Reilich said. “I am thankful to Greece Rotary Club for its interest and commitment in keeping our parks safe and inclusive environments. I am honored to partner with President Chuck Gannon and the entire Rotary District 7120 in introducing ADA-accessible picnic tables to our parks. On behalf of all Greece residents, I extend my sincere appreciation for the time and effort Greece Rotary Club pours into our community.”
