A new grant program instituted by the Hunter Brooks Watson Memorial Fund is offering youth ages 16-25 the chance to win grant awards up to $5,000.
Applicants must demonstrate enthusiasm and passion in their lives, and pursue an innovative idea or dream. The grants focus on encouraging interests in the performing arts, technology, music or entrepreneurship.
The fund was created in honor of Hunter Brooks Watson, who died in a 2016 car crash before his junior year at Syracuse University.
The program does not require applicants to be in school, have a certain GPA, be a member of any religious group or demonstrate school leadership or athletic accomplishments. Its aim is to identify and assist young people who need financial help to follow their passions.
Applications are due Nov. 15. Visit hunterwatson.org for information.
