Do you occasionally go out for lunch or look for a friend to go with you? Well, I can tell you that you would be surprised at what you would be treated to on the first Saturdays of each month at Messiah Lutheran Church’s Soup-er Saturdays.
Not only is lunch free, but there is always somebody to talk with. When the weather is cold we have soup and sandwiches, and when it is hot we will have salad and sandwiches. We always have dessert. Some of the sandwich selections at this free luncheon are ham, turkey, tuna fish, egg salad and, of course, we always have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The soups are always homemade unless we are having grilled cheese sandwiches, and what else but tomato soup is the soup of the day.
We have had chicken vegetable soup and chicken sausage gumbo, Italian wedding, chunky potato and chili, just to mention a few.
The next Soup-er Saturday is Oct. 6. So, remember to mark your calendars for the first Saturdays of each month at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4301 Mount Read Blvd, Rochester. Remember, if you don’t try it you will never know what you are missing. This is a free luncheon and the community is invited. We are handicapped-accessible.
If you need more information, please call the church office at 585-865-1866.
Thank you, and hope to see you there.
