Image City Photography Gallery, 722 University Ave., Rochester, will exhibit “Backroads” from noon to 6 p.m. on Mondays-Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. on Sundays through Nov. 26.
The display is located in the Neuberger Gallery, and supported by the Josephine Herrick Project, a nonprofit based in New York City; Rochester Vet Center; New York State Council on the Arts; and Canon.
“Backroads” features works by Phyllis and Gary Thompson, veterans, Camera Rochester competitors, gallery partners and artists-in-residence.
Canon supplied 15 cameras for the project. Two partners from Image City Photography Gallery conducted 10 classes with veterans in basic photography complete with field trips. Three images from each of the 11 participating veterans are included in the exhibit.
“Backroads” will formally open with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 3. Veterans will gather for a special reception from 5 to 7 p.m on Nov. 10.
Admission is free. The gallery is handicapped-accessible.
