Theatre Young Kids Enjoy will present “Fly Guy: The Musical” on Jan. 13-21 at the Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester, 1200 Edgewood Ave., Brighton.
Show times are at 11 a.m. on Jan. 13 and 20, 2 p.m. on Jan. 13-14 and 20-21 and 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 21.
The new musical combines books from Tedd Arnold’s “Fly Guy” series, including “Hi! Fly Guy,” “Fly Guy Meets Fly Girl” and “Fly Girl vs. the Flyswatter.” Buzz and his pet fly will embark on an adventure that includes the school bus, a flyswatter factory field trip and the Amazing Pet Contest. Other characters include Roz the Lunch lady, Fly Girl and her owner, Liz.
“The show is just as fun and exuberant as you’d expect from the ‘Fly Guy’ series with its lovable characters and energetic, clever plots,” said Freyda Schneider, TYKEs director and founder. “The lively, very fast-paced original score by Austin Zumbro is dazzling and so unique. Kids and parents will be buzzing.”
The show is recommended for ages 4 and older.
TYKEs’ 14th season will continue with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” on Feb. 5-10 and “Madagascar: A Musical Adventure” on April 7-15. Subscriptions are available.
Tickets cost $16, or $15 for JCC members. Group and subscriber discounts are available. Call (585) 461-2000 or visit bit.ly/2BFh3Qs for information.
