Before the new year even arrived, the Webster Town Hall was abuzz with over 1,100 Webster residents paying their property taxes in advance. The lines moved quickly, and town staff did an exceptional job of helping residents with getting their proper property tax bill and directing them to the right line in which to pay.
I wish to extend a big thank you to the employees in the Tax Department for their outstanding work that day and for staying positive and professional in a very stressful situation.
A new feature at Town Hall since the renovations is a drop box in the vestibule as you enter the front door (Ridge Road entrance) of the Town Hall. In the vestibule here you are able to drop off your tax payments after hours, and they will be credited on the next business day.
We have already had our first meeting of the year on the $1.8 million sidewalk project that will take place from Five Mile Line Road to Holt Road. Design approval should be complete sometime in July 2018, and we then shall have a public information meeting for Webster residents to attend and voice their thoughts on shortly thereafter. We are projecting sidewalks on both sides of the street where that is possible, new street lighting and also working with RTS on bus stop placements.
This is an exciting project for Webster as it will provide a loop from Five Mile Line Road to the village, down the bike path, to North Ponds Park to the Hojack Line down to Lake Ontario and then back. We are anxiously waiting for competition of this project sometime in 2019.
