Scott Furey is accused of trespassing and on casino property and threatening violence in retaliation for his arrest
A Walworth man is facing charges of trespassing at and making threats against del Lago Resort and Casino in the town of Tyre, Seneca County.
State police arrested Scott Furey, 47, Monday after finding him sleeping on a couch inside the casino hotel lobby. Troopers said casino security told them Furey had been banned from the casino in June for allegedly engaging in fraudulent gaming activity.
Furey was initially charged with a misdemeanor count of third-degree criminal trespass, but after he allegedly made several verbal threats to return to the casino and commit acts of violence in retaliation for his arrest, he was further charged with a felony count of making a terrorist threat.
Furey was arraigned at Tyre Town Court and remanded to Seneca County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond. He is to return to court at a later date.
