Gates Town Supervisor Mark Assini recently announced his intention for New York’s 25th Congressional District seat.
Assini has private-sector experience in finance and management. He previously served as a financial analyst at Eastman Kodak, marketing manager and member of the senior management team at American Rock Salt and vice president at Vin-Mar Builders. He applied his private-sector skills to his roles as county legislator and Gates town supervisor.
The town of Gates received the governor’s second highest efficiency award for towns in 2013. Assini oversaw the lowest town taxes in a decade, the elimination of all town debt, a multimillion-dollar reserve, a new library and a new recreation center.
He previously received the Roger J. Robach Conservative of the Year Award, and was inducted into the Gates Chili High School Hall of Fame. Assini is a lifelong resident of Gates. His family includes his wife, Mary Ann; three children; and four grandchildren.
Assini ran for the 25th Congressional District seat in 2014.
