The Women’s Council, a volunteer service organization that supports Rochester Museum and Science Center, will host its first Dine & Discover luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Hyatt Regency Rochester 125 E. Main St.
Maj. Meagan McGrath, a high-altitude mountaineer, polar expeditioner and Canadian Forces aerospace engineer, will discuss experiences and lessons she learned from running, cycling, skiing, climbing and trekking in extreme environments around the world.
McGrath was the first Canadian woman to climb the Mount Kosciuszko and Carstensz Pyramid versions of the Seven Summits — the highest mountain on each continent, including Mount Everest, Denali and Mount Kilimanjaro. She was the first Canadian to ski solo to the South Pole.
Tickets cost $45. Call (585) 697-1988 for VIP tickets and sponsorship information. Visit rmsc.org for information.
