The artwork of Brighton artist Betsy Liano is on display through June 30 at Friendly Home’s Memorial Gallery, 3156 East Ave., Brighton.
The exhibit, titled “Drop of Sunshine,” is open for viewing 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Friendly Home’s gallery, and admission is free.
In honor of early spring, this watercolor exhibit focuses on the artist’s floral works and portraits of local garden subjects and memories from trips to Maine, Munich, Hawaii and Cancun, Mexico. Liano uses bold colors while exploring the subject to bring them into focus for the viewer and feels that observation is one of the more important aspects of being an artist.
Liano facilitates an open studio for local artists through the Brighton Continuing Education program and teaches a painting class for adults at Brighton Recreation. She is an annual participant in Rochester Public Market’s Artist Row each September. Her printed works are available for sale at Eleventh Hour in Twelve Corners Brighton.
