The Wayne County Tourism Office released its 2018 visitor’s guide, an all-inclusive brochure that features local photography.
The guide contains everything a visitor or resident may need, with information on local accommodations, activities, restaurants, attractions, historical sites, charter boats and fishing. It serves as a resource for visitors and residents with contact information, maps and events.
Highlights include outdoor recreation, the Erie Canal, fishing and hunting, family activities, museums and historic sites, arts, wineries and craft beverages, shopping and agritourism.
The cover photo comes from Kyle Meddaugh, of Red Creek. Meddaugh owns onePhoto Photography, a studio based in Fair Haven.
“Kyle is a true ambassador for capturing the beauty of Lake Ontario,” said Christine Worth, director of tourism.
These guides are distributed to over 60,000 people in the U.S. and Canada, who requested them through the tourism office’s advertising campaigns. The guides are distributed at local and regional information centers, travel and trade shows, literature exchanges and AAA offices.

The Wayne County Tourism Office releases several brochures each year, including summer, harvest and holiday guides. The harvest guide is special to the county. Wayne County is the largest apple producer in the state, and hosts the annual Apple Tasting Tour in October. This year will be the tour’s 21st year.
