The Autism Council of Rochester will host second annual 5K race called Heroes on Both Sides at 9 a.m. on April 21 at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility on Scottsville Road in Rochester.
Area first responders will run the race alongside community members to raise money for Autism Awareness Training for emergency personnel in Monroe County.
“We have seen first-hand in our community that emergency responders need to understand individuals with Autism and respond to them appropriately in our community,” said Lawana Jones, founder and president of the Autism Council of Rochester.
The first 100 runners to sign up will get an event T-shirt.
The male and female winners of the race will get a $50 gift certificate to Branca Restaurant in Pittsford and two tickets to the Comedy at the Carlson Club. Other winners will receive Red Wings tickets.
Registration is $30 for adults who pre-register and $35 to sign up race day.
