“Live from Hochstein,” a free concert series, will continue from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. on May 9 in Hochstein Performance Hall, 50 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester.
American jazz started to migrate to Europe after World War I. Berlin and Paris were seized by its exoticism, which proved popular with local audiences and composers. This program, “Syncopated Sounds from 1920s Germany,” features jazz-influenced selections from Lothar Perl, Erwin Schulhoff, Louis Gruenberg and Paul Hindemith. Tony Caramia will perform on piano.
The series runs on Wednesdays through May 16. WXXI Classical 91.5/90.3 FM will broadcast the concerts live.
