Churchville-Chili Central School District’s 2018-19 budget of $84,878,822 was approved recently by the community with 773 yes votes to 292 no votes.
Proposition 2, which allows for the purchase of 10 new school buses of various configurations at an estimated maximum cost of $1,220,000, was approved with 793 yes votes to 290 no votes.
Proposition 3, which allows for the purchase of approximately 136 acres for no more than $595,000, was approved with 755 yes votes to 345 no votes.
Candidates Jonathan Payne, Cheryl Repass and Leon Tucker were elected to the board of education, effective July 1. They received 756, 724 and 677 votes, respectively. Lynn Fulmore received 443 votes.
“Our district works in collaboration with the board of education each year to balance our fiscal obligations with the needs of our taxpayers,” said Lori Orologio, superintendent. “I believe being open and transparent about our budget process with the community is key to the continued support of our students, staff and programs. We never take that support for granted, and are very thankful to our taxpayers.”
