County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo touted more jobs, better budgets, and stronger families during the 2018 State of the County address on Thursday at Frontier Field.

Dinolfo said she kept her promise to Monroe County by eliminating the last local development corporation while making the deal with the Red Wings to stay at Frontier Field. The move, she said, should save taxpayers $320,000 every year.

Dinollfo's main point Thursday, though, was more jobs in Monroe County.

She mentioned the deals with companies like Amazon and Sydor Instruments, and said she is working to get local people employment as new positions arise.

"These companies are now creating over 1,000 jobs and retaining over 3,000 jobs right here at home in our community. That's right, 4,000 jobs," she said. "They will do all this while investing over $1.5 billion in our economy."

Dinolfo also touted keeping the property tax rate flat, while fixing zombie homes and improving infrastructure.
