A Rochester man has been convicted of murder in the second degree for the shooting death of another man on Christmas Day.

A Rochester man has been convicted of murder in the second degree for the shooting death of another man on Christmas Day.

Prosecutors say 20-year-old Joshua Burns and Elzie James brought a shotgun to a Genesee Street apartment on Dec. 25 where 35-year-old Jarvis Porter was shot in the face with the shotgun.

Back in May, James pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree. He will serve 25 years in prison with first years post-release supervision.

Burns will be sentenced on Aug. 9. He faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.
