On Monday, Judge Ciaccio reversed his previous ruling and remanded him to the Monroe County Jail without bail.

The man accused of tampering with the scene of his girlfriend's fatal overdose in a Gates motel will be not released from jail after the judge reversed his previous ruling.

Scott Pernesky pleaded not guilty last week to felony charges of tampering with physical evidence as well as an unrelated charge of petit larceny. On Friday, Judge Chris Ciaccio had ordered Pernesky to be released and wear an ankle monitor pending a trial.

Back in February, police say Pernesky was in a room at the Motel 6 on Buell Road when his girlfriend, 40-year-old Jennifer Baker, died of a heroin overdose. Officers say Pernseky hid the drugs, wrapped her body in sheets, and left town.

On Monday, Judge Ciaccio reversed his previous ruling and remanded him to the Monroe County Jail without bail.
