The Irondequoit Police Department is looking for their newest addition to force.

The police department is now accepting nominations for a child between the ages 8 to 15 to be an honorary officer in the Irondequoit 4th of July Parade.

The lucky winner will ride in a police car and may be joined by a parent.

Nominations can be emailed to knichols@irondequoit.org and should include the name, contact information for the person writing the post, the child’s name, age, contact information, shirt size and a brief summary of why the child is being nominated.

Nominations will be accepted until noon Friday, June 29 and the winner will be selected on July 2.
