The Office of Congressional Ethics found, “substantial reason to believe” Congressman Collins engaged in insider trading over a year ago. Despite this questionably unethical behavior, Republicans chose to have Mr. Collins represent their party in the 27th congressional races.
Last November, Congressman Collins stated that he represents donors. He told reporters, “My donors are basically saying, ‘Get it done or don’t ever call me again,’” Again, it was well known that Congressman Collins has not represented the constituents of the the 27th Congressional District, but the GOP chose to keep Mr. Collins as their standard bearer.
Now, Congressman Collins has been arrested and charged with securities fraud, wire fraud and making false statements to the FBI. It should be obvious that Congressman Collins and his GOP enablers do not represent the 27th District. We need a representative who will represent the constituents of the district in an ethical and honest manner. We need to elect Nate McMurray.
