A lot of you have been asking how you can help those impacted by Hurricane Florence
A lot of you have been asking how you can help those impacted by Hurricane Florence.
Last week, Messenger Post's news partner, News10NBC found a highly respected, four-star charity that was already set up to help.
It's called the North Carolina Community Foundation, and the foundation's CEO is so thankful for the generous donations that have been pouring in from western New York.
However, she tells News10NBC that donations are still needed because the effects of Hurricane Florence are far from over.
News10NBC has been told all of the money donated to the North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund goes to nonprofit organizations with programs that help hurricane victims rebuild their homes and communities. And while Hurricane Florence may have passed, the threat of damage is far from over.
"We're expecting many rivers to crest later this week, so there is still a really incredible danger of flooding," stated Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, CEO of NCCF.
Whiteside added, "...many of our communities are still cut off, we've got two interstate systems that are closed outside of some major towns, so we can't even get into some communities to assess the damage."
We have provided a direct link to their donation page. If you are interested in donating, you can do so by clicking here.
