Meet the area's newest millionaire: 50-year-old Daniel Grinnell.

He has a great story of how he got his hands on the Money Clip scratch-off ticket that won him $3 million. The maintenance technician says he often plays scratch-off lottery, but this was the first time he'd ever played Money Clip.

He says the ATM wasn't working at his usual store, so he went to another store, taking out $40 and winning $27. With that, he decided to take the $27 he won back to his usual place- Fastrac on West Ridge Road- and try his luck there.

As he sat out in his truck scratching, he didn't think he had really won- but he did!

Grinnell has opted to take one-time lump-sun payment of a little more than $1.5 million- and he has plans on how he will spend that jackpot:

"I'm going to buy a home," he told Yolanda Vega.

Grinnell also said he hopes invest, pay for the education of his five-year-old son, and a brand new pickup truck.

Finally, Grinnell says he now considers 27 his lucky number- because he spent $27 buying the ticket, the winning ticket number was 27, and the winning number was 27!
