The Hochstein’s School, 50 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester, will open the fall season of its “Live from Hochstein” concert series on Oct. 10 with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
The free lunchtime “brown bag” concert series will run from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. on Wednesdays through Dec. 5 in Hochstein Performance Hall.
The goal is to give downtown business people, teachers, families, students and friends an opportunity to hear classical music performed by area musicians, including soloists, duets and small ensembles. Concerts are broadcast live on WXXI Classical 91.5/90.3 FM.
The series will continue with “Love Songs for South America” on Oct. 17; “Piano Trios by Arensky and Piazzolla” on Oct. 24; “A Taste of Baroque Italy” on Oct. 31; “Music of Douglas, Piazzolla and Previn” on Nov. 7; “Brahms’ Sextet for Strings” on Nov. 14; “Holiday Music for Horns” on Nov. 28; and Madrigalia: “A Cup of Good Cheer” on Dec. 5.
